Obesity Incidence

Research has shown links between sedentary behavior to health outcomes in children, adolescents, and adults. The health outcomes including obesity incidence and weight gain as a result of studies done on sedentary behavior trials with TV viewing time. Body mass index measurements increased along with waist circumference in both men and women. During childhood and adolescence, sedentary behavior practices are proven to predict obesity and increased BMI's in adulthood. Cross sectional studies were done to conclude there is a correlation between a greater amount of time spent with sedentary behavior practices being a indicator for obesity.
